Life Insurance

Description
Eligible postdoctoral trainees may have access to life insurance coverage through Penn’s carrier, MetLife.
Postdoctoral trainees are required to provide life insurance beneficiary information through Workday@Penn. Beneficiary information should be reviewed and updated as needed, especially after major life events.
For life insurance purposes, the benefits base salary is calculated and frozen in March of each year. This amount will not change during the plan year, even if the postdoctoral trainee’s salary or stipend changes.
Postdoctoral trainees should review Penn HR benefits guidance for current life insurance eligibility, coverage options, beneficiary instructions, and plan details.
Penn Policy and Related Guidance
For current life insurance information, postdoctoral trainees should review Penn HR benefits guidance or contact the Penn Employee Solution Center.
