Bio

Dr. Jaclyn Welles is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Physiology at the Perelman School of Medicine. Her research focuses on understanding how insulin controls sugar and fat metabolism in animal models of diabetes and liver disease, with a particular interest in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

As a Provost Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Welles conducted significant research in the Department of Physiology under the mentorship of Dr. Paul M. Titchenell. Her research focused on understanding how insulin controls sugar and fat metabolism in animal models of diabetes and liver disease.

Dr. Welles is passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists and is actively involved in various professional and community organizations.
