Bio

Dr. Christine Vazquez is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Microbiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from Duke University, where her dissertation focused on the mechanisms of innate immune regulation by the Hepatitis C Virus protease, NS3-NS4A. She also holds an M.S. in Biotechnology and Biodefense and a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, both from The Johns Hopkins University.

At Penn, Dr. Vazquez works under the mentorship of Dr. Kellie Jurado, investigating the interactions between viral pathogens and the host immune system. Her research aims to uncover novel mechanisms of immune evasion and response, contributing to the development of new therapeutic strategies for infectious diseases.

Dr. Vazquez is committed to advancing scientific knowledge and fostering a collaborative research environment. Her diverse background and extensive training make her a valuable member of the Penn community, where she continues to explore innovative approaches to understanding and combating viral infections.
