Atiya Strothers Love
Bio
Dr. Atiya Strothers Love is a scholar-practitioner whose research explores faculty mentoring, spiritual identity, and equity in higher education. As a Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn, she worked with Drs. Marybeth Gasman and Laura Perna to investigate mentorship frameworks that support academic success and inclusion. Her dissertation introduced the “Proctor Process,” a model grounded in legacy, resilience, and moral leadership.
She currently serves as Assistant Professor and Director of the Higher Education Leadership Program at Widener University. Her work has been published in the Peabody Journal of Education and multiple edited volumes, and she remains active in AERA, ASHE, and AABHE. Dr. Love brings over a decade of experience in higher education leadership and continues to center purpose, faith, and service in both her research and practice.
