Workshop: Publishing Reimagined — Presented by Penn Libraries and Penn Press
About
The Penn community is invited to an engaging workshop, Publishing Reimagined: An Interactive Workshop, held at the Kislak Center Seminar Room. This workshop will explore alternative publishing futures and discuss potential solutions to make academic research more accessible to relevant audiences.
Despite the vast number of academic works published each year across various business models, much academic research remains out of reach for relevant audiences. In this session, attendees will work in small groups to explore entirely new incentive structures, business models, and funding approaches for publishing. This hands-on, collaborative session will connect you with other people at Penn who care about scholarly publishing and wish to imagine what alternative futures might entail.
While this session will build on discussions from a Publishing Reimagined workshop in fall 2024, everyone is welcome to attend and contribute their perspectives.
