Event: Music in the Pavilion, Music for Ursula — Presented by Penn Libraries
About
The Penn postdoctoral community is invited to Music in the Pavilion: Music for Ursula, a concert honoring the artist Ursula Sternberg-Hertz (1925–2000), whose papers are housed in the Kislak Center.
A string trio featuring Jason DePue (viola), Philip Kates (violin), and Jeffrey Solow (cello) will perform works by Beethoven, Schubert, and Mozart—music beloved by Sternberg-Hertz, who often sketched musicians during performances conducted by her husband, Jonathan Sternberg. A selection of her artwork depicting musicians will also be on display.
The evening includes a pre-concert talk at 6:15 p.m. by Tanya Pushkine, Monique Seyler, and Jeffrey Solow, followed by the concert at 7:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Penn Department of Music and Penn Libraries
Type: In-person
Audience: Open to the public (registration required for non-Penn guests; encouraged for all)
