Postdoctoral scholars from Penn, CHOP, and its affiliated institutions—including Monell, Swarthmore, and Wistar—are invited to a practical and engaging session designed to demystify the financial side of postdoc life.

This virtual workshop will walk you through the essentials of understanding your paycheck and building a strong financial foundation. Topics will include:

  • How to read and interpret your pay stub
  • Taxes and deductions (FICA, benefits, etc.)
  • Planning for irregular income or stipend-based funding
  • Budgeting strategies for academic professionals
  • Navigating financial benefits available to postdocs

Whether you’re new to Penn or looking to get a better handle on your finances, this session offers helpful tools, real-life examples, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
