Call for Applications — Rita Levi Montalcini Fellowship Program

The Penn postdoctoral community is invited to apply for the Fondazione Dompé ETS Rita Levi Montalcini Fellowships, supporting research in neuroscience and neurobiology at U.S. universities. This program reflects the Foundation’s mission to foster international collaboration and invest in the next generation of scientific leaders.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be enrolled in or applying to a U.S.-based Master’s, PhD, or postdoctoral research fellowship program in neuroscience or neurobiology
• Candidates must hold a post-baccalaureate degree, typically the highest degree earned in their field
• Applicants’ 2025 household net income must not exceed $120,000
• Applicants must not have professional or collaborative ties with Dompé Farmaceutici or Fondazione Dompé ETS

Fellowship Details:

• Supports advanced training in neuroscience and neurobiology at U.S. universities.
• Fellows gain opportunities for international networking and collaboration.
• Provides recognition connected to the legacy of Nobel laureate Rita Levi-Montalcini.
• Builds pathways for long-term careers in biomedical research.

Program Benefits:

• Up to 24 fellowships will be awarded.
• Each fellowship provides $25,000 USD per year, for a maximum of three years.
• Funding may be used to support living costs, training, or research-related expenses (per program regulations).

Application Requirements:

• CV (European format)
• Cover letter (max 2 pages, Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 spacing) describing education, career goals, interests, and research motivations
• Tax return (Form 1040)
• Degree certificates (Bachelor’s/Master’s)
• Proof of admission or application to a U.S. academic program or postdoctoral research position in neuroscience or neurobiology
