The Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF) invites applications for non-renewable research fellowships for the academic year 2025-2026. These fellowships support advanced study or research at a Belgian university or research institution.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Doctoral Applicants: Must be registered in a Ph.D. or equivalent degree program in the United States.
- Postdoctoral Applicants: Must hold a Ph.D. degree and have no more than 2 years of research experience since obtaining their Ph.D. by July 1, 2025.
- Submit official transcripts as evidence of outstanding Bachelor’s and Master’s degree records.
Program Benefits:
- Provides up to $34,000 to support travel, living, tuition, and other educational costs.
- Health insurance is provided through the Foundation’s group policy.
- Fellowships can be used in conjunction with other support.
Application Requirements:
- Formal letter of offer from an accredited institution.
- Detailed research or study plan within the supported fields.
Award Details:
- $30,000 awarded for Doctoral Researchers.
- $34,000 awarded for Post-doctoral Researchers.
- Fellowships are non-renewable and for a period of 12 months. If the fellowship duration is less than 12 months, the stipend will be prorated. The minimum fellowship period is 6 months.

Submission Instructions: Completed applications must be submitted as electronic documents in PDF format and attached to an email sent to emile.boulpaep@yale.edu. Letters of recommendation should be submitted separately by the recommenders to the same email address.
