The Penn community is invited to apply for the 2026 New York’s Great Lakes Basin Small Grants Program, administered by New York Sea Grant in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). This opportunity supports projects in New York’s Great Lakes Basin that advance the Great Lakes Action Agenda and align with an approved local community plan (e.g., Watershed Management Plan, Hazard Mitigation Plan).

Projects must align with at least one Great Lakes Action Agenda goal and associated metric(s). Budget requests may not exceed $40,000, and no match is required. Proposals must be submitted electronically as one single PDF through New York Sea Grant’s online application portal; late submissions will not be accepted.

Eligible applicants include: not-for-profit organizations; county and local governments; eligible Indian nations; public agencies (e.g., regional planning entities, environmental commissions, soil and water conservation districts); and educational institutions, including colleges and universities.
