About
Postdoctoral researchers and fellows, as well as graduating PhD students, are invited to apply for the VIP-3 Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at the Vienna BioCenter (VBC). Funded by Horizon Europe’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), this prestigious program offers ten full-time, three-year fellowships starting January 1, 2026, designed to support interdisciplinary research and professional development in a dynamic international environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
- PhD in a relevant discipline by August 15, 2025
- At least one first-author or co-first-author publication (or publicly deposited manuscript)
- Must not have resided or worked in Austria for more than 12 months in the past 3 years
- Research proposal must bridge at least two participating VBC research groups
Research Areas:
- Life sciences, chemistry, physics, medicine, engineering, computer science, mathematics, and bioinformatics
Program Benefits:
- Three-mentor structure: two VBC host group leaders and one external mentor
- Full-time contract (40 hours/week) with salary aligned to the Austrian Science Fund (FWF)
