About
The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation Wallenberg Academy Fellows program in Sweden is an initiative designed to support young researchers in various academic disciplines. This program aims to provide optimal conditions for pursuing challenging, long-term research projects.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a young researcher in medicine, natural sciences, engineering and technology, humanities, or social sciences.
- Candidates must have obtained their PhDs after January 1, 2016, with exceptions for documented leave of absence.
- Nominated by a Swedish university.
- Must spend at least 70% of their position and working time at the host university.
Program Benefits:
- Provides SEK 1,000,000 – 2,000,000 per year for up to five years.
- Includes project support and PI salary.
- Offers significant resources to focus on research.
Application Requirements:
- CV (max two A4 pages)
- List of publications with the ten most important marked
- Short account of the person’s career (max two A4 pages)
- Project proposal (max six A4 pages)
- Presentation of the nominee’s importance to the university’s research profile (max two A4 pages)
- Brief popular scientific summary in Swedish (max one A4 page)
- Motivation for external candidates (max one A4 page)
- Specification of the amount applied for
Award Details:
- Grants of SEK 1,500,000/year for theoretical disciplines.
- Grants of SEK 2,000,000/year for theoretical disciplines for researchers working abroad.
- Grants of SEK 2,000,000/year for experimental disciplines.
- Grants of SEK 2,500,000/year for experimental disciplines for researchers working abroad.
- Additional startup grants and moving expenses for researchers working abroad.
