Penn Postdocs in the News: Molly Reilly, Ph.D., awarded Hartwell Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship

Penn Postdoctoral Scientist Molly Reilly receives Hartwell Foundation Fellowship for neurodevelopmental disease research

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Molly Reilly, Ph.D., a postdoctoral scientist in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, has been selected for a Hartwell Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. Under the mentorship of Elizabeth Heller, Ph.D., Dr. Reilly will investigate an innovative therapeutic strategy for neurodevelopmental diseases affecting children.

Dr. Reilly joined Penn in April 2022. A molecular biologist whose research spans epigenetics and rare disease, her Hartwell-supported work focuses on testing a potential therapeutic strategy for neurodevelopmental disorders affecting approximately 250,000 children in the United States.

Dr. Reilly earned her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Columbia University in 2021, where she also earned an M.A. in Biological Sciences. She previously earned her bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and Neuroscience from the University of Virginia. Before joining Penn, she conducted postdoctoral research at the New York Genome Center.

Penn nominated Dr. Reilly alongside Megan Liou, Ph.D., for Hartwell Fellowship support. Their selection reflects The Hartwell Foundation’s commitment to supporting early-career biomedical scientists pursuing research with the potential to improve children’s health.

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Reilly and her work advancing new approaches to understanding and treating neurodevelopmental disease.
