Call for Applications: Liechtenstein Office of Cultural Affairs — Kulturbrauerei Schaan Artist Residency (2027)
About
The Penn community is invited to apply for a studio residency at the Kulturbrauerei Schaan in Liechtenstein, administered by the Department of Cultural Affairs. Applications are open to professional artists and cultural practitioners, with communication in German or English.
The residency provides one of three furnished studio flats (approx. 50 m²) each quarter, plus access to shared studios, a communal kitchen, and additional facilities. The residency is free of charge (including utilities), and each artist receives a grant of CHF 6,000 for a three-month stay (CHF 2,000/month), paid in installments (final installment after move-out). Travel costs are the artist’s responsibility. An introductory event with the local cultural scene is mandatory during the second week of the stay.
Residencies are available in 2027 (Quarter 1–4), and the first move-in begins January 2027. Applicants should note the residential setting (projects must be considerate of neighbors), the 80% attendance requirement, and that pets are not allowed. Applicants must also be able to secure third-party liability insurance and European health insurance for the residency period.
